Functional Capacity Evaluations
A Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) is an intensive 3 to 4 hour evaluation of an injured worker’s strength, endurance, speed, and flexibility.
The purpose of the FCE is to determine the current functional abilities of an injured worker in the context of their employment requirements. This facilitates the next step in the rehabilitation process of successful return to work.
Work Conditioning
Work Conditioning is a special type of physical therapy focused on preparing the injured worker for the return to work.
This is a progressive program typically consisting of daily sessions 4 hours in length over a course of 6 weeks. Sessions focus on physical requirements and activities similar to those that will be required of the worker while on the job.
